Years ago, a friend introduced me to country singer, Gary Allen, and for some reason his lyrics touched my soul. His songs have been with me through my life since then. Some happy times and some sad times.
I was at work on Friday and this song randomly came on my ipod. I haven't heard it in months. These are the lines that really hit me;
I was at work on Friday and this song randomly came on my ipod. I haven't heard it in months. These are the lines that really hit me;
Life ain't always beautiful
sometimes it's just plain hard
life can knock you down it can break your heart
you think you're on your way
and it's just a dead end road
at the end of the day
the struggles make you stronger and the changes make you wise
and happiness has its own way of taking it's sweet time
tears will fall sometimes
life ain't always beautiful
but it's a beautiful ride
I didn't think much more of it until Sunday afternoon when we found tires slashed on both of our vehicles.
I was so angry. Didn't they know this is the last thing that we needed in our lives right now? Did they purposely hit us just when things were starting to look up? But then I came to grips. It could have been worse, they could have caused more damage than they did.
I thought of the last line of this song.
We went to Chili's for dinner.
And we enjoyed the ride. together.
