every girls dream

I got my ring that I have been patiently waiting for. Menny came over and I had taken my other one off so I could do the dishes. He asked "Where is your ring, why don't you ever wear it?" I calmly replied that it was in on the sink and that I just hadn't put it back on. I went to grab it and it was gone.........

We frantically searched my apartment. He even dumped my purse out and all. We couldn't find it anywhere. I was about ready to cry. I was thinking he would definately not get my real ring if I couldn't even keep track of that one.

Just as I was about to lose it , Menny came in from the bathroom and grabbed my finger. He slipped a ring on my finger and said he found it behind the trash can. He said "Don't you dare lose it again!" I looked down and realized it wasn't gold ( the other one was a gold one from mexico). Then I freaked out.... end of story.

This is a picture of my actual ring. My camera lens is broke and not taking the greatest pictures right now, so this is from the jeweler's website.

I SAID YES

May 5 , 2007

OK! I know this is a little late. I don't have internet set up at my apartment yet and this last month has been a whirlwind. So... let me clue you in about how my life got flipped upside down and how I turned in my Hawaii tickets for 5 more years in the state that has the highest Wedding rates in the United States.

Menny decided he couldn't bare the thought of me being in Hawaii with all those Island boys , while he was stuck in Utah with "Utah girls". ( jk please don't take offense anyone)

He had it all planned and I had no idea. I had been to Utah the previous 2 weekends , so I thought it was only fair that he came to Idaho that weekend. He refused to come, stating that this was the only weekend his professor could take him flying and he wanted me to come also. I was MAD! I didn't understand why he would make me drive down again just because he wanted to go flying.

He came to my hotel Friday night with a bouquet of roses and then we went to Cafe Rio. :) ( which is good because he hates cafe rio) The next morning he picked me up around 8 to go to the airport. On our way to the aiport he got a call from a friend. He said we needed to go grab something from his house for the friend. What was really happening was; Menny and Matt ( one of the Elders we served with) had gotten up early that morning and set up card board boxes on the church lawn that spelled out "Will you marry me?". We were suppose to fly over it in the airplane. The wind had a different plan and the boxes were blowing all over the place. Matt called to tell him he better bring me over before they were all gone. So we went over and he made me close my eyes. He walked me over to the lawn and got down on his knee ( good boy), pulled out the box and said " Will you marry me , Melissa ?" In the background Matt was running around trying to keep all the boxes there so I could still tell what it said. I said yes of course. We went out to the airport to his professor's plane, but the wind had picked up even more and we weren't able to go flying after all. We had breakfast and a movie later. I was a REALLY good day!

So the wedding is planned ( well almost anyway). We will be sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, September 29. We will have a reception at my mom and Chet's house that night, with a party in Juarez , Mexico the following weekend. I've had this day planned my whole life so it really hasn't been all that stressfull ( maybe to my mom a little :)).
I love Menny , he is such a great guy. I'm excited to share my life with him and have him help me raise my family.

Welcome back my long lost friend!

This is an official welcome back shout out for my good friend who has been gone for WAY too long! I think it happened some time on my mission... it just disappeared for about 2 years or so. They had the replacement flavor of cherry vanillla, but it just didn't cut it. Well as I sit at my desk drinking and reminiscing, I give a big huge THANK YOU to coke for bringing a staple of my diet back into my life.
