One month as Melissa Rodriguez!
Today we have been married for one whole month! wow!
Last night for FHE we went to "Becoming Jane" and The PIE pizzaria. SOOOOO GOOD!
Menny ( ok really me) couldn't wait to open presents , so we opened them last night. Menny gave me the third season of "The Office." I gave Menny a new church belt and sweater.

ODE to text messaging..,

I would like to thank those who created text messaging.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I'm not sure when all the "texting" hype began. Probably another technology jump from when I was on the mission. I remember when I got home it was the new great thing. I was not all for it for the first year or so. When got a new cell phone in January and figured out predictive text; text messaging became my instant boredom buster during my three hour graphic design lab. I was still against obsessive texting.
As Menny and I started dating, he was in SLC and I was still finishing school up in Idaho. After using up all our minutes we would start sending text messages. We both ended up paying the extra dough for unlimited text on our cell phone plan. I still hated seeing people in their cars texting or even worse texting during sacrament meeting.
We are newlyweds that don't see much of each other. Menny leaves at 6:30 a.m. and gets home around 1 a.m.. We don't see enough of each other. When he can call me I'm at work and can't talk. When I can call him , he is at work and can't talk. Sad as it may seem, we have resorted to text messaging all day long. Somedays it's really frustrating because I feel like I text message my husband more than I talk to him in person, but for the time being we have both come to the conclusion that its better than not communicating at all.
So, THANK GOODNESS for unlimited text message plans. My cell phone bill last month stated I sent 1,200 text messages and received 1,600.

Come fly with me....

We received Menny's favorite wedding present on Saturday morning. His professor took us up in his private plane. I was very reluctant to go, but went when I couldn't get the grin off Menny's face since the day he found out. His professor has flown for years and even flew in one of the wars. ( I can't get remember which one) So , I talked myself into going thinking since Mr. Chandler was so experienced we would be perfectly fine.
I didn't know the plan obviously.
We get up right over the great Salt Lake and Mr. Chandler lets go of everything and turns to Menny, " You got it right?" My heart skipped a beat and my stomach flopped as Menny took over flying the airplane.
I sat in the back with tight knuckles the whole time he flew, but I knew he sat in the front with a perma-grin on his face.
Long nervous flight short... we landed safely.
I really wanted Menny to turn around to get a picture of his face while flying , but I couldn't get my seventies looking*(see pic) headset to work. It was probably best not to distract him !
