The tongue rolling fool grows up

Who knew that part of growing up meant that I would be able to finally roll my tongue like a true spanish speaker. After many failed attempts to roll my tongue on my mission, I had almost given up. When I worked at the portrait studio I had to come up with creative ways to get the kids to smile for me. Oneday, out of the middle of nowhere.... my tongue just started rolling. IT WORKED!! The kids loved it. I even had a grandma request the "tongue rolling thing" to get her to smile naturally in her family picture. By the end of the session we had the whole family laughing and doing the "tongue rolling thing" for grandma. That was one of my favorite sessions. I don't need it any more for photo sessions , but I am still so amped that I can finally roll my tongue with the best of them. :) oh yeah...this isn't a picture of me but maybe that's what my little girls will look like after I teach them the "tongue rolling thing".

I turned 25 in March. I honestly think I had a small little breakdown. I just did not feel like getting older!! I was pretty dang grumpy on my birthday (sorry mom). I did receive my favorite goods although. Somehow I scored 3 new dresses and 3 new pairs of shoes. I know , spoiled. I need to see the positve aspects of being this age... my insurance went down and I got a new picture on my driver's license. Those are good things right? It shouldn't matter that everywhere I go girls 6 years younger than me are getting married and having kids, or better yet done with school and getting a lot more money at their jobs than my lame salary. Then I get asked by everyother blessed little soul ; "When are you going to get married " or " When do you graduate?". Everything in it's own time....

Speaking of school... things are winding down for the semester and finals are creeping up around the corner ( like 2 weeks). I'm procrastinating my 10 page spanish paper on globalization. It's not my favorite pastime to bull crap 10 pages of a subject I don't understand and do it all in another language. Good thing I have a boyfriend who speaks spanish fluently and will help translate if he still wants to be that boyfriend....
I have a final photography project due also... but I'm drawing a blank. I have to do a series of 10 photos of something. ex: emotion, word or something. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! (ash , i'm counting on your brillance here) I'm actually not going back to school in the fall semester. ISU decided to raise the tuition 5%. As you can imagine a lot of students are not too pleased about this. Although, this is not the reason I will not be attending school for a little while. I'm moving back to Utah. ( no comments about melissa's moving habit, please) I decided to find a good full time job and pay off some stuff that has accumulated being a poor college student. I also realized that I can take advantage of a free class at the LDS Business college because I am one of their cherished Alumni of 3 years now. WOW! that was way cool to discover. Anyway that's the plan..... I know some of you may have heard some other details but those will be disclosed at a later date. I have really enjoyed school this year but I need a break and need to be a responsible 25 year-old for awhile.

Well...maybe I'll sign off for now and post more pictures after this weekend in Utah. Hopefully I get past this creative block and take some pics for my final. I will definately share.

last rose standing

I forgot to take a picture of my gorgeous red roses I received for Valentines Day. Of course by the time I remembered, there is
only one that really looks that great. The funny thing is I've never really been a flowery kind of gal. Lately I am; to get roses from a guy is about the best thing ever!
(they are all the same roses, just messing with the color on my new camera)

sisters unite

Okay I went to FredMyers to do a little grocery shopping today. I always have to cruise by the book/magazine section. I found the best find ever! The fourth book of the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants has finally arrived on bookshelves. I have long anticipated the arrival of this final chapter in the saga of the traveling pants. I know you have too , Ash. If anyone hasn't read these books, they are great. I don't know that they should be classified as Young Adult. There are a few scandalous love stories I don't want my 12 year old neices reading about. But all in all I LOVE THEM and am totally addicted. I obviously bought the book and started reading it this afternoon at work.

lOvE

I have heard a lot of negative comments around campus lately about Valentines Day. People call it "Single Awareness Day" or say Valentines Day is just a hoax for people to spend more money. I disagree. I think it's a great day to celebrate our love for the great people in our lives. There are so many people in my life that I LOVE and they probably don't know it. They make my life much more liveable. I wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone that I Love (epecially my neice and nephews who love reading my blog) , have loved or will love a very Happy Valentines Day. ENJOY!!! LOVE and BE LOVED! Because with love everyone is so much happier.
